Infrared
Infrared illumination can produce useful monochrome images in darkness without visible light, but reflective surfaces and nearby objects can affect the result.
Full-color and mixed light
Low-light sensors and white-light LEDs can preserve color evidence. Visible illumination may also deter activity, but it must suit neighbors, traffic, and the site environment.
Test the real scene
- Check the darkest hour of the night.
- Look for headlights and bright signs.
- Confirm faces and clothing remain usable during motion.
